Hey there East Kootenay residents, the Fernie Minor Hockey Association could use all the support it can get in a national contest for funding.

They’re currently a Regional Finalist with a chance to win $75,000.

Fernie Minor Hockey was one of five hockey associations chosen as regional winners of a $25,000 Kruger Big Assist.

Now you can assist in selecting which one will receive an additional $75,000 Kruger Grand Prize.

The Kruger Big Assist Grand Prize is to encourage more kids to play hockey by developing solutions that look to remove barriers in the game of hockey and make the game more accessible, inclusive and equitable for everyone.

Voting began on April 9 and ends April 11 at 5 p.m. EST.
