What’s up at the Fernie Heritage Library

Here’s what’s happening at the Fernie Heritage Library in September and into October.

Family Programming   

Storytime (Ages 3-5 years)

Tuesdays 11:15 a.m.-noon

Stories, singing and activities for preschoolers and their caregivers.

Toddlertime (Ages 0-2 years)

Wednesdays and Fridays at 11:15 a.m.

Singing, simple stories and fingerplays for babies and their caregivers.

Children’s Activities for Grades 1-6

In order to participate in children in programs, each child must have a valid junior membership and a completed waiver for the 2016-2017 programming year.

Tuesdays 3:30-4:45 p.m. ‘Not Bored’ for Tweens. Drop-in fun for tweens grades 5-7. This month’s theme: journal: making them and using them.

Wednesdays 3:30-4:45 p.m. Unplugged. This month it’s all about spy games..ages 8+, Drop In.

Thursdays 3:30-4:45 p.m. Lego Club. New challenge every week, for ages seven plus MUST REGISTER to attend.

FUN FRIDAY, Big Nate Day- Friday, September 23 1 -2:30 p.m. for ages 7+. Drop In.

Teens

September 22, 6-7:30 p.m.

Pizza League for grades 7 and up. Drop in for pizza and fun.

Adult Programming

Tea and Talk Book Club: ‘Go Set a Watchman’ by Harper Lee. Copies of the book are available from the library.

Wednesday, September 28th at 10 a.m.

little-old-ladyWalkie Talkie: ‘The Little Old Lady Who Broke all the Rules’ by Catharina Ingelman-Sundberg.

A new drop-in outdoor book Club on the last Wednesday morning of each month from 10-11 a.m. We will meet at the Library front steps and walk along along the river path and chat as we go.

First meeting on Wednesday, September 28. Sign up for your copy of the book from the library.

Stitch and Bitch

Drop-In Knitting crocheting and any other yarny endeavour on the first Wednesday of each month at 10 a.m. in the beautiful view of the reference floor at the library. Next event October 5.

First Thursday Social- October 6, 7 p.m.

Once a month time for adults to enjoy a friendly gathering and possibly a lively discussion on a monthly themes. October is Cellar Night: Craft beer tasting. BYO One bottle of your favourite craft beer to share, and something to pair it with. Pretzels provided for all.
