Fire services recruitment hits Hosmer tonight
The Regional District of East Kootenay’s (RDEK) fire services recruitment drive is stopping in Hosmer tonight.
The RDEK has room for more firefighters in its departments in Baynes Lake, Elko, Hosmer and Jaffray in the Elk Valley South Country and in the Columbia Valley’s Edgewater, Fairmont Hot Springs and Windermere fire departments.
No experience is necessary. New recruits will receive free training, compensation for incident response and training and learn to become part of a dedicated team and learn valuable new skills.
This evening (November 8) at 7 p.m. the RDEK is hosting a community meeting at the Hosmer Fire Hall. Come on out and hear why the fire department needs volunteers, and what you can do to help.
And on Sunday, November 13 at 1 p.m. the RDEK is hosting a Community Interactive Training Session at the Hosmer Fire Hall.
Stations will be set up that teach you about fire extinguisher use, adult CPR, and breathing apparatus operation.
Fires don’t wait, and neither should you! Join your local volunteer fire department today!
