The Fernie Ghostriders needed six games to skate past the Columbia Valley Rockies into the next round of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL) playoffs.

The Ghostriders scored five straight after trailing the Rockies by a goal after the first period of game six of the Eddie Mountain Division finals March 16 at the Memorial Arena.

Fernie now heads to Beaver Valley Arena Friday, March 22 for game one of the Kootenay Conference finals against the Beaver Valley Nitehawks.

The Nitehawks dispatched the Grand Forks Border Bruins in six games.

Game two is Saturday, March 23 in Fruitvale and games three and four are back at Fernie’s Memorial Arena on Tuesday, March 26 and Wednesday, March 27. Gametimes 7 p.m.

Games five to seven, if needed, will be March 29 in Fruitvale, game six in Fernie March 30 and game 7 back in Beaver Valley on Monday, April 1.
