Highway 3 re-opened after semi crash
UPDATE: Highway 3 is now moving single lane alternating after the semi has been pulled to the side of the road.
A semi-trailer crash on Highway 3 in the Elko curves (three km east of Elko), which occurred just after 9 a.m., forced the closure of the highway for a couple of hours.
An assessment in progress and a highway detour is not available.
DriveBC also reports winter driving conditions on Highway 3 from nine km west of Jaffray to the Alberta border, with slushy and slippery sections. In fact, the entire East Kootenay is currently experiencing winter driving conditions.
There are no details about the condition of the semi driver.
Please check DriveBC for updates on the status of the highway.
