Highway a sheet of ice near Rosicky Road; crash reported
An accident on Highway 3 near the Rosicky Road turnoff by Wardner has traffic moving slowly, alternating one lane at a time.
The condition of the road, noted Cranbrook RCMP Cst. Katie Forgeron, is “a sheet of ice.”
As of 9:57 a.m. Cst. Forgeron reports that traffic will most likely be re-routed along Rosicky Road when the tow trucks attempt to pull the vehicles out. This should take place within the next half hour and then the highway will be shut down for about an hour to get the vehicles removed. Rosicky Road should serve as a bypass during this time.
DriveBC reports Highway 3 has slippery sections and compact snow with slippery sections between Wardner and the Alberta border. Highway 43 also has slippery sections.
Check DriveBC for updates if you have to venture out.
DriveBC’s Hosmer camera is still offline; it has been out of order for about two weeks now.
