A joint effort between Elkford Search and Rescue and Sparwood Search Rescue resulted in two overdue snowmobilers being found Jan. 14.

Elkford Search and Rescue was called Jan. 14 at 6:35 p.m. for two overdue snowmobilers in the Koko Claims recreational area.

“Our overdue subjects were found safe and sound after a very tiring day getting unstuck. They were found at approximately 10 p.m. Great job by all who participated,” Elkford Search and Rescue reported.

“Thank you Sparwood SAR for your mutual aid with extra machines and members to access. To those of you riding in this area, please make sure you have a plan left behind as to where you expect to go and make sure you have enough gear to survive overnight if you have to,” Elkford SAR stated.
