Rainfall warning for the Elk Valley
Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for the Elk Valley.
Total rainfall amounts of 50 mm can be expected today.
“A frontal system is bringing heavy rain to the Elk Valley. Total rainfall amounts of 50 mm are expected before the rain eases this evening,” Environment Canada reported.
Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.
Other areas of the East Kootenay can expect 10 to 15 mm of precipitation, Environment Canada forecasts.
