SAR units team to aid injured cyclist
Sparwood Search and Rescue (SAR) members responded last night (June 11) to assist Elkford Search and Rescue in accessing and rescuing an injured cyclist.
Ground crews using UTVs located and provided first aid to the subject, who was then transported by helicopter to a waiting ambulance.
The subject’s rescue was aided greatly by his carrying a satellite emergency beacon, as the area is very remote and has zero cellular coverage.
