Snowfall Warning for Elk Valley
Environment Canada this morning has issued a snowfall warning for the Elk Valley.
Heavy snow is expected today with total amounts of 10 to 20 cm, with highest amounts expected near Fernie.
Two to four cm are expected in the rest of the region.
A low pressure system has developed in southeast B.C. bringing snow to this area.
Snow will begin this morning and intensify throughout the day. Snow will end early this evening
Roads and walkways will likely be difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.
Allow extra time for travel. If driving, turn on your lights, slow down and maintain a safe following distance. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
