District of Sparwood council December 11 awarded the Middletown Crossing – Highway 3/43 Intersection Improvements Project to Projex Infrastructure Limited of Langley for the price of $7,083,644.43.

The tender for Middletown Crossing – Highway 3/43 Intersection Improvements closed on September 21. Five contractors submitted bids on the project:

Projex Infrastructure Ltd: $7,083,644.43.

Due to uncertainty regarding one contractor’s bid revision, the District of Sparwood petitioned the Supreme Court of BC to make a ruling regarding acceptance of the revision. On December 11, the Supreme Court of BC rendered a decision that the revision was noncompliant, and the contract was subsequently awarded to Projex Infrastructure Ltd. later that day.
