Sparwood and Crowsnest Pass firefighters help Angel Flight
The Battle of the Bravest proved to be a massive boon for an angel April 12.
Sparwood Fire Department and Crowsnest Pass Fire Rescue members tangled at Sparwood Arena in a charity hockey game raising funds for Angel Flight East Kootenay and residents turned out in droves.
“Mayor and council for the District of Sparwood are so proud of firefighters from both Sparwood and Crowsnest Pass for the entertaining hockey game (Saturday night) and the $30,000 dollars raised for Angel Flight,” said District of Sparwood Mayor David Wilks on social media.
“Thanks to the RCMP for refereeing the game and Mike Harrington for MCing the event.
“There were over 400 people in attendance. Thank you to everyone who made this such a great event for a great cause.”
