Wireless water meter concerns
Council had previously received concerns from a resident regarding the installation of wireless water meters in Sparwood. The water meters that have been installed in most of the homes in Sparwood have lower radio output than the Health Canada or the World Health Organization guidelines. The meters put out a pulse of approximately 950 MHz for 0.003 seconds each minute. That is equal to 4.32 seconds per month or 51.84 seconds per year out of an individual meter. The district relies on the best available information and standards provided by the senior levels of government.

Bears have been spotted in recent weeks passing through our community. Bears have a very keen sense of smell and garbage or other food sources can easily attract a bear to your property.
