Residents are advised that the Sparwood Health Centre emergency department will be closed on Saturday, August 27 due to unexpected lack of physician coverage.

The emergency department will re-open Sunday, August 28 at 8 a.m. for normal operations. Hours of operation are normally seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

When the emergency department in Sparwood is closed, residents should:

• In the event of an emergency, call 9-1-1.
• Go to the emergency department in Fernie (24/7 emergency department service).
• If individuals are unsure about what services they require, call HealthLink BC at 8-1-1.
  The toll-free line provides 24-hour, confidential health information and advice from a registered nurse.
