Sparwood SAR volunteer organization of 2021
District of Sparwood council last night presented Sparwood Search and Rescue (SAR) volunteers with the 2021 Volunteer Organization of the Year Award.
This award, along with a cheque for $500 is presented annually to a volunteer organization that:
-Demonstrates initiative, leadership and creativity in their service to the community;
-Inspires others to engage in volunteer service;
-Improves the overall quality of life for residents and the community as a whole.
Sparwood Search and Rescue has been providing service to Sparwood and the surrounding area since the late 1970s.
