Sparwood youngsters raise funds for Angel Flight

Adalynn Cooper

On this cold December afternoon in the Sparwood shopping mall the Cooper family is raising money for Angel Flight East Kootenay and their little girl is their spokesperson.

Adalynn Cooper (11) grabs your attention by asking “how are are you?”  She then asks if you would like to donate to Angel Flight?

This remarkable little girl will explain the purpose of the Angel Flight program and your options of purchasing a craft versus donating. Adam Cooper,

Adalynn’s father explained, “Our family is amazed with the support over the last three days. The kids’ work of art gave them an inspiration to sell and their hearts gave them the opportunity to help people in need.

In total, the kids raised and donated a total of $2,000 to Angel Flight.

With Teck matching, there will be a total of $4,000 going towards a great cause and help the amazing people at Angel Flight get people to and from the East Kootenay for medical purposes.

This all started last year when Adalynn wanted to join the craft fair to make a little Christmas money; then Joshua asked if we can donate half of money to the homeless. We explained to them, our area doesn’t have a homeless population or resources, so they decide to support the Sparwood Food Bank raising $400.

Thank you to everyone who came and supported these kids over the last few days; words can’t even begin to express how we feel. Our hearts are full.
