Street sweeping program begins April 9
The District of Sparwood’s spring street sweeping program will begin on April 9 and last two to three weeks (weather permitting) from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, excluding weekends.
The purpose of the program is to remove sanding material and debris that has accumulated on roads and boulevards from winter road maintenance.
Sweeping will begin on Douglas Fir Road and move northward through to Sparwood Heights. Once the streets are cleaned we will proceed with boulevard cleaning throughout the district until complete.
Conditions around the equipment performing these tasks are extremely dusty with limited visibility for the operators. Motorists should exercise extreme caution when approaching or passing the equipment.
Residents are asked to refrain from parking on the streets, boulevards and medians while the sweeper is in the area as we rely on the cooperation of vehicle owners to complete these activities.
