Two arrested for break and enter at EVR
On Sunday, June 29 at 10 p.m., Elk Valley Regional RCMP responded to a report of a break and enter in progress at an Elk Valley Resource (EVR) building along Michel Creek Road and Highway 3 in Sparwood.
EVR security reports seeing two men stealing wire and other items from their warehouse yard.
Police attended with support of a Police Dog Service team and were able to quickly locate and arrest two men on site who matched the description of the two people seen by security in the yard.
During a search incidental to arrest, officers discovered break in tools within a backpack located on one of the males. Both men are from Alberta and were not known to local RCMP at the time of the arrest. All of the stolen product was recovered.
After the initial investigation was complete, both men were released on undertakings with a number of conditions, including a ‘no go to/within the Elk Valley’ and a first court appearance in September 2025.
Elk Valley RCMP are thankful for the assistance of our security partners with EVR who helped to prevent a serious theft in our community.
