The Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK) reported today that contractors will be burning the wood pile at the Sparwood Transfer Station as part of normal operations.

“The venting is correct today for the burn, and they have approval from the Fire Chief. They will have equipment on site and an appropriate fire watch to accompany this burn,” the RDEK outlined on social media.
