Arrest made after search in Kimberley

On January 21, Kimberley RCMP with the assistance of Police Dog Services, executed a search under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, at a residence on Ritchie Street around 8:30 a.m.

A portion of Ritchie Street was briefly closed with a larger police presence in the area.

During the execution of the warrant, one individual was arrested without incident.

The male arrested had been the subject of previous arrests for drug trafficking. Illicit drugs and evidence indicative of drug trafficking were recovered during the execution of the warrant.

The individual was later released pending further investigation and evidence gathering.

“Kimberley RCMP encourage residents to reach out at 250-427-4811 to report suspicious activity, as it may lead to the suppression of illicit drug traffickers,” said Sgt. D. Biggs, Kimberley RCMP Detachment commander.
