On December 6, at a Paint and Sip event at the Elks Lodge Kimberley hosted by Claire Marston, two local charities received an early Christmas gift thanks to participants.

Karly Berry, owner of Kootenay Financial Solutions in association with Sun Life, committed to contribute $10 for every person in attendance, helping raise $450 for the Kimberley Helping Hands Food Bank and $450 to Kimberley Health Care Auxiliary.

Berry said she wanted to give back to the community and support local charities.

Karly and her husband Ryan and their two children, have now been living in Kimberley for 15 years.
