COs set tangled Marysville buck free

The buck after it was tranquillized and freed from the hammock.

Yesterday morning BC Conservation Officer Service Conservation Officers Gilewicz and Scott dealt with a call for service in Marysville of a mule deer buck tangled in a hammock.

These incidents are surprisingly common in the East Kootenay and often without intervention the deer end up hurting themselves. This deer was tranquilized and once immobile the hammock was removed. An ear tag was added and then the deer went on his way.
