On January 30, Kimberley RCMP responded to Stemwinder Drive for a report of a male in crisis.

Due to the risk to public safety several nearby residents were evacuated and the Southeast District Containment Team, Emergency Response Team and RCMP Negotiator assisted.

After a lengthy period of time overnight the male was taken into custody and will be facing several criminal charges. He will appear in court later today for a bail hearing.
