Dynamiters advance to KIJHL finals
The Kimberley Dynamiters are headed back to the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL) championship round.
The Eddie Mountain Division champion Nitros advanced after knocking off the Neil Murdoch Division champion Nelson Leafs in six games, with a 2-1 overtime victory March 23 at the Nelson Community Complex to claim the Kootenay Conference crown.
The Dynamiters will be facing the Okanagan/Shuswap Conference champion Revelstoke Grizzlies.
The Grizzlies needed seven games to knock off the Osoyoos Coyotes to advance to the final.
The KIJHL Championship series begins Friday, March 30 in Kimberley, with game two going Saturday, March 31. Both games start at 7:30 p.m.
Games three and four are Monday April 2 Tuesday, Apr. 3 in Revelstoke.
Games five through seven, if necessary, are Thursday, Apr. 5 in Kimberley at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Apr. 6 in Revelstoke and Sunday, Apr. 8 in Kimberley.
