The Kimberley Larch Festival is Thursday, November 2 from 5-8 p.m. at Stonefire Pizza in The Platzl.

The deadline for submissions to the photography contest celebrating the beautiful autumn larch has already passed but organizers note they have about 205 images submitted.

The following are categories of photos:

– Larch (the prize is a bucket of Moody Bee honey and a double date with the couple of your choice);
– Larch in the Alpine (Moody Bee gift pack);
– Hipsters or Rednecks (growler of Overtime and a six-pack of Lucky Lager);
– Pets in the Larch, weird pet photos will be given preference (prize is a selfie session with Jerry the parrot);
– Dads in the Larch, in honour of Krista’s dad Mike coming from Vancouver for Larchfest (with a prize being one of Mike’s plaid Tommy Hilfiger shirts, gently used);
– Tasteful Nude in the Larch (with a prize of one dozen free range eggs from Colin and Jen).

The festival dress code is plaid.
