Fire being fought NE of Kimberley
BC Wildfire Service firefighters with the Southeast Fire Centre are currently tending to a fire near Wood’s Corner, 12 km northeast of Kimberley.
Fire Information Officer Carlee Kachman reports the blaze, currently at about 14 acres in size (6.3 hectares), is being battled by a crew of 20 firefighters and two water tenders.
The fire, which began Sunday, July 31, is believed to have been started by lightning. It is not threatening any homes.
