First Saturday fills Kimberley with music

The First Saturday events held each month from May to October always features music during the day and into the evening.
This past Saturday, August 5, artists played throughout the afternoon in the Platzl bandstand, with the evening concert showcased ‘Cod Gone Wild.’
The Platzl music during the day was by Tucks Troupadors, Stacey and Bud Decosse, Drew Lyle, Clayton and Joelle and Carly Reirson.
The evening concert held at Centre 64 started off with ‘The Inferiors,’ a young up-and-coming band from Kimberley. The main attraction, Cod Gone Wild, filled the venue. A Celtic inspired band plays a variety of traditional music with a modern edge. The uplifting energy and great stage presence had a large portion of the crowd up and dancing.
The concert was the first of the eight-day Kimberley Kaleidoscope arts and culture festival organized by the Kimberley Arts Council.
The Elks Club provided a meal option during the concert.
A great day in Kimberley, with the evening concert an obvious hit with standing room only.
