Same fun JulyFest, different location
Photos/video by Carrie Schafer and Ian Cobb/e-KNOWThe City of Kimberley was alive with the sounds of JulyFest last weekend as many hundreds of bocce and soccer players competed and a host of reunions and other parties mixed and mingled.
This year’s event was moved to Centennial Park, with the usual fun and games in the beer garden with a host of talented local acts providing an awesome soundtrack for the happenings.
The 44th annual JulyFest Homecoming Parade, like the rest of the weekend, was held beneath almost cloudless blue skies and hot sunshine.
JulyFest organizers are seeking feedback on this year’s event, through the form of an online survey.
“Hey JulyFesters! Thank you for coming to attend JulyFest. We would like your feedback with a short 10-question survey. Have a great rest of the summer and we’ll see you again on July 20th, 2018.”
Known changes and concerns so far are: Washrooms; looking at a stage re-location to right-field on softer grass for dancing; moving lights between the pits for better lighting; Easier access to misters and cooling stations; More garbage & re-cycle bins, tables and tents; More volunteers for various stations; More cider-style beverages.
The following images and video are of the Homecoming Parade.
