KDCC introduces new President
Kimberley and District Chamber of Commerce (KDCC) are thrilled to introduce our new president, Sue-Anne Banks, a passionate advocate for school food, local food systems, and Indigenous food sovereignty.
Sue-Anne is a lifelong learner, a mother to a curious four-year-old, and a heart-forward leader working at the intersection of food, culture, education, and leadership.
Current Roles & Work
• Coordinator of the Indigenous School Food Circle with Farm to Cafeteria Canada & the Coalition for Healthy School Food, supporting culturally grounded school food programs.
• President of the Kimberley & District Chamber of Commerce Board.
• Collaborator on the Local Food Initiative Task Force with Columbia Basin Trust, shaping regional food security strategies.
• Completing her Master of Arts in Leadership at Royal Roads University.
Sue-Anne’s work is grounded in Indigenous knowledge, meaningful relationships, and values-based leadership, balancing tradition with innovation. She is dedicated to building healthier, more inclusive systems through collaboration, cultural revitalization, and creative thinking — including exploring how digital tools can enhance connection, storytelling, and knowledge sharing.
