Kimberley Art in the Garden Tour June 22

Feels like summer has finally arrived in Kimberley and this year’s Art in the Garden Tour is coming up in less than two weeks!

Hosted by the Kimberley Arts Council, the event will take place on Sunday, June 22, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Among the seven Kimberley/Marysville gardens selected this year, is none other than the beloved Nina’s Hillside Garden, well known from its days as a favourite stop for delicious lunches and cakes in the most beautiful setting.

We are very excited and grateful to owner Roland Gaschen, for giving former patrons another chance to stroll through this European fairy tale once more. If you haven’t seen it yet, here is your chance to take in this true sanctuary.

As in the past, organizers were able to source a wonderful variety of gardens, every single one being a truly unique showcase for the personal vision, passion and hard labour the owners have put into their spaces. Visitors will hopefully find inspiration and peace while on this tour.

This year’s musical entertainment will be provided by Don Erhardt, a Kimberley musician with a wide repertoire of songs that gently rock on the blue side of jazz. As well as this, four Kimberley students offer a combination of folksy-singing and classical and light jazz instrument duets.

In addition, visitors will have the opportunity to watch Kimberley visual artists showcasing their talent painting en plein air at their dedicated locations.

A day like this would not be complete without the perfect finish: Ticket holders are encouraged to stop at the gallery at Centre 64 for a little visit while enjoying refreshments and locally made chocolates. They can also enter their name for the draw of a number of amazing door prizes, generously donated by our local business community.

This event would not be possible without the continued support of the following organizations and businesses: Columbia Basin Trust, Top Crop & Top Crop Too, Casey’s Greenhouse, Bavarian Home Hardware, The Laundromat Gallery and the Grater Good.
