Kimberley candidates’ debates Nov. 8 and 9
City of Kimberley voters have choices, choices and more choices for council and mayor in the Nov. 19 municipal election.
With that in mind, voters would be wise to head to McKim Theatre on Tuesday, Nov. 8 and Wednesday, Nov. 9 for the Kimberley Chamber of Commerce-hosted all-candidates’ debates.
With 17 people to choose from for the six council seats, the Tuesday evening debate will provide a cursory look at who is in the running. There was originally 18 council candidates but Chantel Hack withdrew from the running late last week.
Left running are: Melissa Broadhurst, David Chorneyko, Darren Close, Kent Goodwin, Craig Hillman, Albert Hoglund, Jackson Kennedy, Ron Kerr, Don McCormick, Dave McFadden, Bev Middlebrook, Darryl Oakley, Tim Park, Lori Pearson, Laurel Ralston, Jack Ratcliffe and Paddy Weston. Weston and Hoglund are the only two incumbents seeking re-election.
The next evening will see Mayor Jim Ogilvie and challenger Ron McRae square off in a separate debate.
