Santa Claus dropped by the Kimberley Platzl on Saturday, Nov. 19 for a quick chat with the youngsters before heading back to the North Pole in preparation for Christmas.

Hundreds of people attended the Platzl Light Up to welcome Santa who arrived on a fire truck complete with police escort.

The festive lights were turned on and children lined up for a chance to bend Santa’s ear. Shops remained open and the mood was very festive.

The Kimberley and District Chamber of Commerce organized the event, which turned out to be a huge success judging from the crowd.
