Fernie Alpine Resort, SE Racing, Cycling Canada and Cycling BC hosted the 2023 Fernie Dunbar Summer Series Canadian Nationals DH Championships this past weekend, with 350 riders attending the event, including lots of World Cup riders.

Luke Stopanski, a 15-year-old from Kimberley, placed second in U17 category.

“It was incredible to see a Kimberley rider representing on the National Stage,” said proud mother Shelly.

Luke Stopanski (pictured to the left in left photo) is part of the Kimberley Racing United Team (KRU).

Fernie was the first of four stops on the Dunbar Summer Race series – the best downhill mountain bike series in Western Canada.
