Notes from City Hall
Snow and Your Home Venting Systems
In today’s age of high efficiency furnaces and water heaters there is a now more of a need for clean and unobstructed exhaust vents. Vents can become blocked in the winter months by snow and ice, which in turn can affect the safe operation of the appliance by building carbon monoxide in your home. Take some time to ensure that snow and ice are not obstructing your ventilation systems and ensure that you have a properly functioning carbon monoxide alarm.
Frozen Water Lines
The City of Kimberley has had an increase in the number of residents experiencing frozen water lines. This is due to the recent prolonged spell of cold temperatures followed by warm weather, which pushes the frost deeper into the ground.
If you are noticing a reduced water flow in your home, leave one tap running cold water 24/7 until the middle of April (stream should be size of a pencil). This will aid in preventing your lines from freezing. For more information go HERE.
Reminder to Renew your 2017 Dog Licences
2017 dog licences are now available at City Hall. Please help our Animal Control Officer make sure your pet gets home without a trip to the SPCA, and licence your dog today!
Business Licences are Due for 2017

Mobile businesses can now operate in Kimberley and Cranbrook without having to apply for business licences from both municipalities. Supported by the Kimberley and Cranbrook Chambers of Commerce, this is a clear win for the busy mobile entrepreneur!
