Civic Centre Walking Track Hours
Effective April 9 until Sunday July 29, the Walking Track Hours will be Monday through to Sundays from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Preventing Melt Water Damage
Spring is here and snow is melting fast. To prevent damage from melt water, home owners are encouraged take action to protect their own property. Plan how to divert melt water away from buildings and keep that path clear. Sandbags can help direct water if needed. City crews will only be addressing melt water concerns on city property. More information on flood protection can be found on HERE.
Operation “Clean Sweep” will be held from April 22 to 29. This is open to any groups, neighbourhoods, schools, or individuals that would like to help clean up along the trails, streets, or fields and parks. Take a photo of your group and we will share it on the city’s Facebook page! To register and receive five free garbage bags please call the Operations Department at 250-427-9660.
Pothole Reporting
City crews fix potholes on a regular basis, fitting the work in between other duties. You can help by reporting potholes so we can add them to our list. Be sure to take note of the street address or crossroads nearest the pothole and report it to the Operations Department by emailing [email protected] or by calling 250-427-9660.
The Bylaw Officer has been receiving several complaints of residents feeding deer in residential neighbourhoods. Did you know this is in contravention of the City of Kimberley Deer Feeding Bylaw No. 2296, 2006? Fines up to $500 can be issued to anyone caught feeding deer. To report someone feeding the deer, please call our Bylaw Officer at 250-427-6460 or email [email protected]. View the full bylaw.
The Scoop about Pet Waste
If you are disposing of pet waste, please remember to place it in securely tied, double plastic bags (i.e. pet waste bags or shopping bags) before putting it in the larger bag contained inside your garbage bin. This will help ensure the safety of our Solid Waste Collection Operators and is a requirement pursuant to section 5.3 of the City of Kimberley Solid Waste Regulations & Rates Bylaw No. 2520.
