Rotary Splash Park has opened for the season!

The splash park opened on July 17, with increased safety precautions in place to protect you from the potential spread of COVID-19. Large circles have been painted on the grass surrounding the splash pad. The public is asked to pick a circle and remain in it with your family members or group when not using the splash pad. If there are no circles available, please come back at another time. Other safety measures include ensuring those aged 12 and under are accompanied by an adult; come prepared with hand sanitizer and/or wipes; wash your hands often; and use available garbage and recycling bins to ensure a clean environment. The splash park will be open daily from 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Watering Reminder

Watering must be done between the hours of 4 a.m. to 10 a.m. AND 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Residents of properties with odd-numbered addresses will water only on odd-numbered days and residents of properties with even-numbered addresses will water only on even-numbered days. Please view the City’s Water Shortage Response Bylaw for more information.

Can I flush it down the toilet or put it down the drain? – Most often, the answer is NO!

Flushing anything down the toilet other than human waste and toilet tissue can cause serious issues at our wastewater treatment facility.

Please don’t flush any of the following items down your toilet or put them in the drain:

Bandages

Cigarette Butts

Coffee Grinds

Condoms

Cotton Swabs

Dental Floss

Diapers

Egg Shells

Fats, Oils and Grease

Feminine Hygiene Products

Hair

Kitty Litter

Medications

Paint

Plastics

Wipes (of any kind)

Wastewater from carpet cleaning or vehicle washing.

Did you also know that all hot tubs, private pools, hotel pools and spas require de-chlorination prior to draining them into the City’s sanitary sewer or storm sewer? Pool drainage requires advanced notice to the City’s Operations Department. For more info, email [email protected] or call 250-427-9660.
