Post-marks on mailed remittances will not be considered as date of payment. Receipt of electronic payments will be recorded as of the date and time the funds are posted to the City’s bank account and not when the payment is transmitted by your financial institution.
Please remember to complete the Home Owner Grant application that is attached to the bottom of the Tax Notice and remit it to City Hall, or complete the online application to claim the Grant. A 10% penalty will apply to Home Owner Grant amounts not claimed by the July 3 Property Tax deadline.
Morning, afternoon or evening…the time is right to get out and enjoy this great trail connecting Kimberley and Cranbrook! Pets and Hot Weather
With the weather warming up, the Animal Control/Bylaw officer would like to remind people not to leave your pets in vehicles. Animals confined in an unventilated vehicle can quickly succumb to the high temperatures and die of heat stroke. Please leave your animals at home where they will be more comfortable. The MTI Bylaw 2540, Animal Control Schedule Section 10, allows for a $150 fine for animals left in an enclosed space unventilated vehicle. Let’s keep our dogs safe this summer!
Off Leash Areas
Did you know that Kimberley has three off-leash areas to exercise your animal?
The Kimberley Nature Park, Lois Creek Trails and the Marysville Flats are all designated off-leash spaces. Maintaining control and cleaning up after your animal still applies in these three off-leash areas. If you are walking your pet in any other City park or playfield area, please remember that your animal must be on a leash at all times. To learn more, visit HERE and follow the link to Animal Control.
No Unauthorized Vehicles in the Platzl
Please be reminded that the Platzl is for pedestrian use only. There is no motor vehicle access permitted unless authorized by the City of Kimberley.
Unattached Trailers
The Bylaw Enforcement Officer would like to remind residents that unattached trailers are not permitted to be parked on the streets. This is in contravention of the City of Kimberley Streets and Traffic Bylaw No. 1877, 1995. To view this bylaw please visit our website.
Free Public Swim
Come to the Aquatic Centre and enjoy a Free Public Swim on Wednesday, July 4 from 5 to 6 p.m. sponsored by Shoppers Drug Mart.
