Platzl building fire under investigation
Authorities are seeking information after a fire at the former Mozart House in the Kimberley Platzl late last evening.
At approximately 11:30 p.m., fire crews attended a structure fire at 130 Spokane Street, formerly known as Mozart House restaurant and apartments.
“The fire was quickly extinguished with minimal structural damage yet there is extensive smoke damage throughout the building,” reported Rick Prasad, assistant fire chief of the Kimberley Fire Department.
Eighteen firefighters and three fire-fighting apparatus attended the fire.
This fire is currently under investigation and the fire department and RCMP are seeking information from the public.
