Public Works Day and Mark Creek Dam tours May 24
The City of Kimberley is inviting residents to celebrate National Public Works Week in conjunction with Drinking Water Week on Wednesday, May 24.
A Public Works Open House is being held between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. at the Kimberley Public Works Yard located at 250 Knighton Road.
In conjunction, the city is also offering guided walking tours of Mark Creek Dam, with two tours. The first departs at 8:30 and returns by 11:30 a.m. and the second departs at noon and returns at 3 p.m.
You must be physically able to walk for the duration of the one-hour tour. Please wear suitable clothing and sturdy footwear. Children under 12 must be with an adult.
Call 250-427-9660 to book a spot in the tours. Space is limited so don’t wait.
A free hot dog and hamburger lunch will begin at 11 a.m. at the Public Works Yard, with plenty of displays, presentations and information on hand.
National Public Works Week is May 21 to 27.
