Second hiker found deceased
The second hiker of three who fell over Meachen Creek Falls September 1 has been located deceased.
On Labour Day, Kimberley RCMP was alerted by a GPS SOS that three hikers went over Meachen Creek Falls. Frontline officers responded and located a 68-year-old woman deceased approximately halfway down the falls while the remaining two were not immediately recovered.
The body of a 35-year-old woman has since been located and work is underway to recover her body today.
A 35-year-old man remains missing; however, he is presumed dead and efforts continue in order to locate and recover him.
The investigation is ongoing although none of the deaths are believed to be suspicious.
