The Ktunaxa Kinbasket Child and Family Service Society hosted a well-attended National Indigenous Peoples Day event at Cranbrook’s Rotary Park June 21.

A gorgeous late spring day was the backdrop with plenty of visiting, good food, knowledge sharing, fun and games for kids and entertainment on hand.

National Indigenous Peoples Day is a day for all Canadians to recognize and celebrate the unique heritage, diverse cultures and outstanding contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples.

Cranbrook’s event was one of several held throughout the Ktunaxa homeland on Wednesday.
