National Indigenous Peoples Day events in region

June 21 is National Indigenous Peoples Day. This is a day for all Canadians to recognize and celebrate the unique heritage, diverse cultures, and outstanding contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples.

Upcoming events in the region include:

June 18

Ktunaxa Kinbasket Child and Family Service Society – National Indigenous Peoples Day special event at Cranbrook’s Rotary Park. 12:30 – 5 p.m.

June 20

Shuswap Band – National Indigenous Peoples Day event at the Columbia Valley Centre. 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

June 21

Yaq̓it ʔa·knuqⱡi ‘it – Tobacco Plains Indian Band – Join the 29th Annual Indigenous Day Border Walk and Celebration. Meet at 9:30 a.m. at the Roosville Border Crossing.
