At 11:38 a.m. Cranbrook RCMP responded to a report from a student at Kootenay Orchard School that a suspicious person was observed near the waste bin at the east side of the school. Police attended within minutes and made patrols in the immediate area of the school.

A police service dog and handler were deployed shortly thereafter and were unable to locate any suspicious person’s or fresh foot tracks in the area. Upon further investigation police have determined that there is no evidence to support the report at this time.

Cranbrook RCMP are asking students and parents to always be aware of your surroundings and not to hesitate to contact police if they have concerns of suspicious people people in and around your neighbourhood.
