Canada Cup begins Wednesday

The best of the best of Canada’s curlers, men and women, are now finding their way to Cranbrook, where they’ll be competing in the 2011 Capital One Canada Cup, beginning this Wednesday, Nov. 30.

Fourteen teams will be taking to the ice at the Cranbrook Rec-Plex between Nov. 30 and Dec. 4, launching a new Season of Champions for Canadian curling fans.

According to event organizers there are still plenty of excellent seats available, with single draw tickets available for $15.

Entry fee allows one pass to The Patch, described as ‘Canada’s biggest pub’ during the run of the event. There is seating for 1,100 in The Patch, where beverages, food and live entertainment will be available.

The Canada Cup features the nation’s seven top performing men’s and women’s teams, based on their performances last season. The winners of the Canada Cup gain the first two berths in the 2013 Tim Hortons Roar of the Rings, which will determine Canada’s teams in the 2014 Olympic Winter Games.
