Dynamiters keep top spot in power rankings
Columbia Valley Rockies join them in the top five
The Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL) is pleased to announce its Power Rankings for Week 22.
The Kimberley Dynamiters split their two games last week defeating the Golden Rockets 5-1, then losing to the Columbia Valley Rockies 5-3. Against the Rockets, Luke Davies netted the winner with his 24th goal and Connor Baumbach made 20 saves. Against the Rockies, Davies scored his 25th goal and Adam Kisilevich made 18 saves.The Dynamiters are first overall in the KIJHL at 31-8-2-2.
The Kamloops Storm won their lone game, defeating the Princeton Posse 4-1. Noah Paulsen (28) won the game with a short-handed goal and Brenner Fyfe made 28 saves. The Storm are third overall at 31-9-1-1.
The Grand Forks Border Bruins lost their lone game of the week, being shutout 4-0 by the Castlegar Rebels. Eric Kahl stopped 35 shots. The Border Bruins are seventh in the league at 28-13-0-1.
The Columbia Valley Rockies won their lone game last week defeating the Dynamiters 5-4. The Rockies scored three times on the power-play, including the winner by Ethan Cerone (20). Piet Mierau made 25 saves for the win. The Rockies are 14th in the league at 18-21-3.
The Revelstoke Grizzlies lost back-to-back games to the Kelowna Chiefs. The first loss was 3-2 with Austin Seibel making 39 saves, while Maguire Nicholson scored short-handed for his 12th goal. They then lost 4-1 with Jake Neufeld scoring and William Stewart stopped 36 shots. The Grizzlies are second overall in the league at 31-8-1-2.
