Ice power to huge lead and ride it in win over Royals
Eight straight goals, with three coming from Elgin Pearce with his first Western Hockey League hat-trick, were enough to power the Kootenay Ice to an 8-3 win over the Victoria Royals Saturday night.
Not to be out done, Ice forward Jesse Ismond posted a five point night, the best of his WHL career, in the win – the Ice’s 14th out of 22 games thus far.
The game was the first of a season-long nine game road trip for the Ice.
With the win the Ice remain tied for first in the Central Division with the Red Deer Rebels, with a 14-5-1-2 record.
The Ice’s next game is tomorrow in Vancouver against the Giants.
