KFC – The Kootenay Freestyle Classic starts Friday at Panorama
The Panorama Mountain Freeride Club proudly presents The Kootenay Freestyle Classic (KFC)!
KFC promises ‘buckets’ of fun! Good times, great prizes and good friends in a celebration of the art of skiing and ski culture at Panorama Mountain Resort.
This event is open to all skiers ages seven to 18, with six categories for boys and six for girls – 7-9, 10-11, 12-13, 14-15, 16-17, 17-18. (Based on your age as of December 31, 2012.)
It is sanctioned by BC Freestyle, so a Canadian Freestyle Membership is required by all participants. Your CFSC membership will be valid for any other events you participate in this year.
Itinerary:
Friday March 8, 6 – 8 p.m. at the ski school desk in the Ski Tip lodge (directly across from guest services) : Bib/bag pick up, competitor bios and waivers. You will also be able to purchase your lift tickets.
Saturday March 9:
– Late bib pick up, etc… 7 – 8:30 am at the ski school desk. (**we prefer if you come Friday night to pick up these as it can delay start times)
– 8:45 – competitors and coaches early lift boarding (Mile 1 quad)
– 9-10:00 Course inspection – Hog’s Flats Terrain Park
– 10:00 Slopestyle start – Youngest to oldest (Ladies first)….
– 4:30 Awards on the Great Hall Deck
Sunday March 10:
– Late bib pick up, etc… 7 – 8:30 am at the ski school desk. (**we prefer if you come Friday night to pick up these as it can delay start times)
– 8:45 – competitors and coaches early lift boarding (Mile 1 quad and the Champaign Chair)
– 9-10:30 Course inspection on Tacky
– 10:30 Mogul Start – Youngest to Oldest (Ladies first)…
– 4:00 Awards on the Great Hall Deck

Lift Tickets Athletes receive 25% off the retail rate for race days. Tickets can be purchased at the Guest Services desk. Coach lift tickets are available at the ski school desk from KFC organizers and are for race days only at the rate of one complimentary lift ticket per 10 athletes. If teams require additional tickets for support staff they can be purchased at the ticket window at 25% off the retail rate.
