Local rowers acquit well in Nelson
The Nelson Rowing Club has been around for over 100 years so they carry some clout with rowing in the Kootenays.

This past weekend they hosted the Nelson Sprints, which are 1,000 metre races. All races were in sculling boats, which means that the rower has two oars each.
Crews from far and wide attended the regatta including Rockies Rowing Club from Cranbrook. The four rowers raced in the Quad (4x) boat and placed a respectable third place.
The Novice Women’s crew of Stephanie Bohn and Kristen Wilson placed first in their race when they pulled hard in the last 250 metres to nose out the second place crew.
