RCMP / Speed Watch Charity Golf Tournament

The Kimberley RCMP / Speed Watch Charity Golf Committee would like to send a heartfelt thanks to the Kimberley Golf Club, all our sponsors, participants and volunteers for making our 21st annual Golf Tournament held on September 15, such a wonderful success.

This year there were 110 golfers which was almost double the amount of entries in 2011. There were prizes for everyone, along with prizes for both male and female for the longest drive, the most honest golfer, closest to the pin, and longest putt. There were some great donations for a hole in one such as a Quad donated by Agro Equipment John Deere, $25,000 towards a vehicle donated by Alpine Toyota, and a Hot Tub donated by Flaman Fitness. Alas, no one achieved a hole in one that day.

The male winner of the tournament was Ron Osterkamf and the female winner was Julia Dereniwsky.

Awesome prizes were donated for the raffle and auction which were held after a barbequed steak dinner hosted outside on the deck at the Kimberley Golf Course. During the tournament golfing etiquette was enforced by Cst. Doiron with all fines being paid and contributed to the amount raised that day.
Approximately $5,800 was raised and all will be donated to minor sports organizations in Kimberley along with the Kimberley Ambulance Memorial Education Fund.

We invite any registered non-profit minor sports clubs in Kimberley to apply for funds to the address listed below. Requests for funding are to be received by December 15, 2012 and must be accompanied by a current financial statement. Please indicate in your request how the funds will be spent and please note funds will not be distributed for operating costs such as salaries, rental, or utilities.
