Volleyballers to serve for Mammography
The East Kootenay Foundation for Health is encouraging the public to come out and support members of the East Kootenay Volley Ball Club (EKVC) at their upcoming Servathon in support of the A Clear View – digital mammography campaign.
The event is taking place on Thursday, April 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the College of the Rockies Gymnasium.
How does the Servathon work?
Each registered EKVC athlete is encouraged to obtain pledges/donations prior to the event.
Pledges are based on the number of points scored in 25 serves. One point is awarded for every successful serve.
Following the 25 attempts the athletes should get their pledge sheets signed by one of the volunteers/coaches and the totals should be added and recorded.
Following the Servathon each player will collect the pledged amount and submit to their parent representative along with the form provided.
No further pledges or donations can be obtained following the day of the Servathon.
Half of the money raised will be credited to the individual athletes account for future tournament fees
And the remaining 50% of the money raised will be donated to the East Kootenay Foundation for Health – A Clear View Digital Mammography Campaign.
